Vodafone are pleased to announce the abolishment of roaming charges on Vodafone Passport in over 35 countries in Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand this summer. I’m sure you’ll agree this is a great proposition for the customer in particular with summer looming; this also will help aid conversion and drive sales.
What does this mean?
From 1 June to 31 August all customers who opt into Vodafone Passport can take their UK home rates for calls, texts and picture messaging abroad with them at no extra cost. This includes any inclusive calls, text and picture messages sent back to the UK and within the Vodafone Passport country they are visiting.
NB – Data is excluded
When is this happening?
This will apply for a 3 month period for June, July and August.
How do I get this?
Customers will need to opt-in to Vodafone Passport to get this promotion. Pre & Post pay will be directed to opt in via a SMS (text) short code which will be available on .co.uk.
Information to do this is available at http://vodafone.co.uk/roaming
Only at airports will customers be told to dial 5555 as post pay customers using the SMS short code could have a delay of up to 1 working day before the migration occurs.

Motorola are a US company who`ve been around since 1928 but only adopted their current name in 1930. In 1983 they produced the first cellular telecommunications device and since then have been associated primarily with the mobile phone market in the consciousness of the average consumer. In more recent years it has produced a range of hugely popular mobile phones, the successes of which have been down partly to their intelligent marketing campaigns, using pop culture and celebrities to sell their phones for them. These tactics have allowed handsets like the RAZR to shift over 120 million units world wide. Motorola are still producing some great mobile phones today, so we`ll have a look at what`s on offer.
- Motorola V8 RAZR2 – As a follow up to the immensely popular original, the RAZR2 adds some key new functions to attract customers back. Firstly there`s the large external 2″ screen which sits on the outside of the phone`s clamshell design. Rather than just being passive, this screen is touch sensitive, allowing users to view text messages, call logs and send quick replies without opening the screen out. The 2 mega pixel digital camera and the wealth of media software make it a modern and stylish handset with power.
- Motorola Aura – Taking a dip into the luxury and boutique phone market, the Aura is certainly unique and weighty thanks to its stainless steel frame and swivel design. The screen is circular like a clock face and you can even watch the little gears that control the movement of the top half as it swivels thanks to a little viewing port in the rear. The interface is hampered by the round screen and the camera is lacking in the quality that you might expect for a seemingly bespoke item, but it`s all about looks here.
- Motorola U9 – Another popular handset from the Pebl range of phones, the U9 offers a clamshell design with a smooth, rounded outer casing and a seamlessly integrated secondary screen. The RAZR style keypad and media playing software make it competent in most areas, and it`s cheap enough that it`s a viable pay as you go option. There`s even a 2 mega pixel camera that works well if light levels are good.
- Motorola ZN5 – This is one of the few candybar phones made by Motorola, but it makes a lot of its relatively understated design. There`s Wi-Fi connectivity which means that you can connect to the internet over a home wireless broadband connection without it costing you money and upload the photos taken with the onboard camera thanks to Kodak easy share software included on the phone.
There are a huge variety of Motorola mobile phones available online on either monthly contract or pay as you go, and finding the right one is as easy as using a price comparison website. This should also allow you to get an impartial look at the different models on offer and help you make your choice.
